Now you can select whether you want users to be redirected to WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp Desktop on Shopify. This gives you more control over how your customers connect with you, depending on their platform preferences.

Why This Matters

Not all users interact with WhatsApp the same way. Some prefer using it directly in their desktop browser, while others use the installed desktop app. With this update, you can tailor the user experience by choosing the most suitable redirect option for your audience.

How It Works

Inside your Shopify WhatsApp Chat App settings, you’ll now see an option to select the default WhatsApp platform: Web or Desktop. Once set, your chat button will automatically open the selected version when a customer clicks it.
